The first impression a potential candidate gets comes from your recruiter. One of the things that you need to ensure is that your recruiter is portraying your organization in the best possible light. Knowledge of the your organization and the position is critical. So if you need an engineer, does your recruiter have an engineer on staff to discuss the position?

Recruiters interview people all of the time. Do not be afraid to take the time to interview your recruiter. Do they have a defined process?  Do they have the knowledge to properly represent your company? Just because someone recruits doesn’t mean they have the ability to bring your organization the best candidates in a short period of time.
